PSLE preparation
By P6 most of the content has been taught at least once. What decides the grade is whether a child recognises what a question is asking and can answer it in the form that earns the mark.
What we focus on in the PSLE year
- Question recognition. Sorting a problem into its type before starting, so an unfamiliar question stops feeling like a new problem.
- Written explanation. The gap between knowing something and writing it the way a marker credits — the single largest source of lost marks.
- Full-syllabus coverage. PSLE examines P3 to P6 material, and children routinely lose marks on topics they last saw two years ago.
- Pacing. Timed practice introduced progressively, so the pace is settled well before the prelims rather than during them.
An honest word about timing
Starting at the beginning of P6 leaves room to work through the whole syllabus before the prelims. Joining later is still possible, and we will tell you plainly what can and cannot be covered in the time that remains rather than promising to fit it all in.
